Windows 7 is reaching its End of Life. Valerie provides an explanation as to what that means, how it affects users, and how to keep safe.

In summary:

Can I still use Windows 7 afterwards?
Yes, but you ideally shouldn’t. End of Life means there will be no ongoing support. A lack of security updates will leave a Windows 7 PC increasingly vulnerable to new malware.

What if I prefer Windows 7?
Windows 10 is highly configurable, and can be made to look and function more like older versions, while keeping the security updates of Windows 10.

Should I wait for the next version of Windows?
Windows 10 is the last version of Windows. All future releases will be newer versions of Windows 10 that all users can upgrade to.  So you don’t have to worry about Windows 10 becoming obsolete.
