The Myths of Backups

I was training earlier this week, improving my knowledge of the backup procedures we use to enhance the value we offer clients who use our services.  During discussions, we realised several myths are floating around out there and may be deterring people from seeking a secure backup solution.

Myth #1:  Microsoft backs up all my data
– It doesn’t

Myth #2:  Your managed services provider can recover anything
– We can do a lot but we’re not miracle workers!

Myth #3:  Online backup puts my files at risk
– If anything it’s more secure than leaving it on your laptop, which can be damaged, lost, or stolen. Even your backup provider can’t see the contents of your files, just the filename and date.

Myth #4:  Online backup is too expensive

Myth #5: Online backup is hard to use
– We will install and manage your backup and even your Microsoft 365 installation for you. You gain the peace of mind without the faff.
